Bus Lane Intruders

As the name goes, it is a road lane designated for buses only. And yet it is a common sight to see motorists trespassing onto this lane, thereby clogging it and defeating the purpose of it.

So what did the authorities do about it? They position their "PI"s behind electrical switch boxes along the road, armed with a video camera and possibly with a notepad and a pen. The result? Definitely not foolproof enough and not every inch of the bus lane is free from these trespassers. What could be a better solution?

Entrust the responsibility of catching these trespassers to the bus drivers! They are the ones who are travelling on the bus lanes all the time and would definitely be in a good position to snap a picture or two of the trespassing vehicle in front of them. Just position a simple one-touch camera at the dashboard of most buses, followed by sending the message out to the world that 'all' buses are armed with this 'weapon' to catch and deter would-be violators.

This thought popped onto my mind while I was caught squashed near the dashboard of a crowded bus, thereby having a magnificent view of vehicles 'hogging' the bus lane.
