Contagion ***/5

I had quite high hopes for this movie since it is supported by a dazzling cast and from the trailer, it looks like a heart racing sci-fi thriller. Alas, it really is more of a documentary or a hypothesis of what would potentially happen if another global pandemic was to hit mankind again.

I shan't give too much of a spoiler but basically, don't expect much of a 'high' from watching this on a big screen. This movie somehow puts HK in a bad light, along with the bureaucracy of government agencies. The darker side of mankind in such crisis was also portrayed. Nonetheless, the movie did not fail to make me feel paranoid about the presence of germs everywhere, making life seem so fragile.

But the movie did end off with a good old U2 classic which momentarily brings me to reminiscence about my early teenage years.

Final verdict, it's probably good enough to catch it on a weekday or on DVD. ;p
