Hiding behind an Excuse?

Have you ever asked yourself why you like to read blogs, facebooks, myspace and other online personal webspages? Besides the usual frank responses of being bored or 'kaypo' (like me), do you tell people that it is also to check out what's been happening with your friends?

If you do, let me ask you another question. Do you keep in touch with these people (whom you're checking them out online) often then? Or does finding out about somebody from the Internet gives you the excuse of not contacting that person face to face (since you've already know what's up with him/her)?

Search your conscience, answer those questions and listen to yourself. Compare the number of online friends you have, with the actual number of people whom you are genuinely concerned about (and do make the conscious effort to socialise with them offline).

Doesn't technology bring people closer virtually but physically further apart? :-/

  3. Keeping in touch online gives one an excuse to link up physically with friends even if it's many years later. Cos if you don't even keep in touch online, sometimes it becomes too awkward to even link back up, or the person might have moved/changed HP and become uncontactable...
